Naps

Benjamin has now decided he will take lengthy naps during the day (meaning 2 hours roughly) if he can sleep on my chest. I thought maybe he just enjoyed being on his belly. After he fell asleep on me today, we put him in the pack-n-play on his belly for the first time. We wanted to try it when he was napping during the day so we could keep a close eye on him. It lasted for about 10 minutes and then he woke up wanting to snuggle again. Luckily, I enjoy cuddling and snuggling with him too! :)

Benjamin now wakes us up in the morning by talking and playing. It's the best part of the day!

4 month checkup and vaccinations

We took Benjamin to his 4 month doctor's appointment Wednesday morning. He now weighs 14 pounds, 6 ounces! The doctor was very happy with his size. He was in the 50'th percentile for his height and weight, and 90'th percentile for his head size! We talked about his sleeping schedule (which is great!), introducing "solids"... cereal, purees, etc at 6 months, and working on tummy time with the boppy pillow. And then came the scary part... vaccinations! Andy held him on the table while the nurse gave him one oral medication and three little jabs to the thighs. He screamed and I wanted to cry for him! But, it was over fast and I scooped him up quickly. He did alright the rest of the day for the most part. We had to give him some infant tylenol around 3:00 because he was fussy, and his legs were red around the injection sites. He was back to his normal happy self the next day after lots of sleep! Next appointment~ 6 months!

Benjamin and I took a trip to mom and dad's house yesterday. Dad cooked corn on the cob and a chicken salad for us all. It was yummy! Benjamin had lots of snuggling time with Grandma and enjoyed playing with Bill. Thanks Bill and Grandma! We love you!

Welcome!

Welcome to our site! We've decided to create a blog so our families and close friends can see what's happening with our family and watch Benjamin grow! We have enjoyed our little man more than we could ever have imagined. He's such a little miracle! He will be 16 weeks tomorrow. Time has flown by quickly and he is growing and doing new things every day. Last night he slept from 10:30 until 7:30, nursed, and then went back to sleep until 10:00. He gave mommy and daddy a nice, well deserved break I must say!
